About me

The Missoula Valley has been my home for over 28 years. I enjoy walks with friends, shared meals, learning more about the world through field trips, creative pursuits, music, and documentaries.

I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee where a love for the outdoors, road trips, and music were nourished. I stay close with my family and have made family out of the best of friends. Living simply in alignment with our environment and all beings is central to my day.

how I first came to yoga

My yoga practice began in Auburn, Alabama with occasional trips to my first teacher in the near town of Tuskegee. At Auburn University I studied sociology, art history, and deejayed at Auburn's WEGL while earning a business degree.

When I first moved to Montana, I worked as an over night baker which made attending yoga classes a challenge. I practiced at home from what I’d been taught and learned from books. Eventually I was mentored by teachers at The Yoga Fitness Center, where I taught for over 18 years. The study of yoga became more central to my life in the late 90's taking me on my first extended retreats and trainings. Yoga became not only my touchstone but my home.

I started teaching YOGA in 2002.

Over the years I have taught through
✧ The Yoga Fitness Center
✧ The University of Montana - Department of Health & Human Performance
✧ The University of Montana's Mind-Body Lab
The University of Montana's Men's Basketball Team
✧ The Learning Center at Red Willow
✧ The Missoula Vet Center
✧ The Missoula Detention Center
✧ The Women's Club
✧ The Missoula Art Museum
✧ Montana's chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

I am pleased to have been included and welcomed by the Montana Pain Conference as an active attendee, breakout facilitator, and presenter. My studies continue with Gary Kraftsow and The American Viniyoga Institute and independently through chronic pain and movement specialists.

Currently my professional focus is working with clients and students where I believe the greatest impact is done privately or in small groups. Yoga therapy allows everything to be geared towards you and the development of a meaningful and effective home practice.
